WHY MERINO IS WORTH IT
Walk into almost any pro shop and nearly everything on the rack is polyester. Sixty to a hundred dollars for a shirt where the fabric is the cheapest part of the garment, and what you are paying for is the logo on the chest.
Merino does three things polyester cannot.
It regulates temperature in both directions. Warm when it is cool out, cool when it is hot, because the fiber manages moisture and air rather than trapping them against you.
It resists odor naturally. This is a genuine property of the wool fiber, not a chemical treatment that washes out. It means you can wear this shirt more than once between washes, which is why it travels as well as it plays.
It lasts. Medium grain merino holds its shape and its hand feel through years of wear, not seasons.
The 5 percent spandex adds stretch and recovery so it moves through a swing and returns to shape.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Is it good for golf? Yes. Full sun, five hours, and constant movement is the hardest test apparel faces. Merino handles heat and moisture better than the polyester that dominates the category.
Is merino hot? No. It is one of the few fibers that genuinely works in both directions. Australian merino is finer and softer than traditional wool.
Is it itchy? No. This is fine grade merino, not coarse wool. It is smooth against bare skin.
How does it fit? Relaxed fit, true to size. It sits looser through the body than our Bamboo Versa-T, which is cut closer. If you want a trimmer fit, size down.
How do I wash it? Cold, gentle or wool cycle, lay flat or hang dry. Avoid high heat. Because merino resists odor, you will wash it far less often than a synthetic shirt.
Can I wear it as a base layer? Yes. It works under a layer in cold weather and on its own in heat.
